It amuses me that your coverage of wrestling based RPGs has so few real wrestling based games in it… But that same lacking of coverage of the genre on the market is something I noticed and helped drive me to bring back one of the first games ever made (long before I even dreamed of releasing them to the wild), NWG. I used to be a huge fan (and still occasionally watch) so wanted one too (and none of the ones I found grabbed me).
I have been talking abut it on my blog off and on for a while, so you can read about some of the development there if you want (http://www.landofkarn.com/modules/wordpress) and I have some notes and links about it on my game site (http://www.dragavangames.com/NWG.htm). It’s a mix of in ring action and role-playing around building your wrestler’s “brand”. It’s all about gaining fans and fame, which doesn’t always require winning matches.
